There is a need for proactive and preventative wellbeing approaches embedded throughout homes and schools to support children and young people's emotional wellbeing.

Combining the powerful symbolism of a bowl of light with the field of Positive Psychology, we have created a unique and practical programme for schools aimed at fostering self-awareness, self-esteem, growth mindset and optimism, through the dynamic and flexible combination of:
      - practical tools
      - daily routines
      - and project work 

The ancient Hawaiian teaching

Hawaiian wisdom says that every child born is is given a bowl of light - of unlimited potential.  And as the child grows and encounters the challenges that life naturally brings, their bowl can slowly begin to fill with stones, each casting a shadow over that warm glow.

But it is revealed to every child upon receiving their bowl, that they hold the power to cast those stones away and let their light shine fully once more. 

The school programme

Using a bowl of light and collection of stones, children will:
- discover all the amazing things their light holds
- reflect on the stones that block their light daily
- use simple tools to help notice, find and add more light

Fostering gratitude, optimism, flexible thinking and a positive mindset.

The birth of Reciprostone®

They say motherhood changes your life forever.
They are not wrong!
But I wasn't expecting a double hit to the heart when I first became a mum.    

Because along with the deepest love for my child came a reignited flame for my purpose. A purpose that I had found the beginnings of around fourteen years previously when volunteering in a hospital playroom with paediatric cancer patients.  And a purpose that I had all but snuffed out just eight years later after realising that I had mistaken my drive for purpose for a need for validation through profession and prestige and had decided to take stock, turn inwards and learn to really appreciate and live the life I had.  

But there was always a little piece  missing. Something deep down in my soul calling out to become.  And when I became a mum I couldn't ignore it any longer. Because I knew that whatever I was called to do, it wasn't just for me. It was for my children.  And it was for the world that they would grow up and grow old  in.    

So I dug deep.
Really deep.

 I worked on myself.
And I worked on my plans.  

Suffice to say, I went through a fair few ideas, wore some very different hats, tried on a few missions for size, but nothing seemed to come close to the feeling I had inside.  

Then one day it just appeared.
A thought.
A memory.
 
Something I had learned about in my early twenties while training in Play Therapy.

I didn't quite know what to do with it then, but I knew that this was meant to be part of it all.  

And slowly - frustratingly at times - as I read and researched, dug out old notes and books, read about recent studies and began to really live a more grateful and meaningful life myself, it all started falling into place.    

And I saw Reciprostone start taking shape before me.
And with it, I could see that the light I was looking for all those many years had been there all along, but it was me who wasn't ready to see it.  

So with a grateful heart, a wiser mind, the warm light of purpose, and a bowl and some stones I stepped out into the world to make the big difference I had known I was here to make almost twenty years ago.  

And the rest is history - in the making.
